Mouse Kidney Imaging
There is considerable interest and potential value in the development of in vivo imaging methods that can non-invasively assess renal function. The overall goal of the Vanderbilt Mouse Kidney Imaging Core is to develop, implement, optimize, validate, and apply quantitative non-invasive in vivo imaging methods for the assessment of renal function and injury in vivo and provide protocols and literature about imaging techniques.
The Imaging Core will be dedicated to providing scientific, technical, and educational resources for non-invasive imaging of mouse models of kidney disease in vivo and support for each pilot project.
The Imaging Core will employ conventional as well as novel imaging methods across a wide range of modalities including MRI, PET, SPECT, ultrasound and optical. The imaging efforts will complement the physiological information obtained from conventional assays of kidney function and facilitate the understanding of pathological mechanisms of kidney disease.
The Mouse Kidney Imaging Core
